The restoration results were rigged!!!

Posted on March 13, 2019 by David

After removing all the rope, handles, pads and other fittings, I spent a total of 72.00 on replacement parts. I needed one seat pad, one set of thigh brace pads, plastic rivets, handle clips, elastic cord and rope. Everything else I managed to salvage by scrubbing or running through the laundry a few times.

It took a little research to locate the parts. However I found everything I needed at Harmony Gear (unpaid plug) including documentation and parts lists. The boat was a L L Bean store brand called the Manatee. After digging through the Harmony site, my model matched up with the Prodigy model made by Perception.

I saved these thigh pads but the holes were very worn.
`
The old pads had duct tape as backing so I used 70 mph Gorilla tape to back up the holes.
Strategic use of high-tech plastic push-rivet pathway tool
New push rivets (boy, those are not cheap)
Looks good to me

It’s done. Just a bit of work and a little money, I’ve got a nice tandem. Yah, it’s got a patched hole but other than that it looks fine.

Before…
…After
All rigged and ready to go
